Shopping Mall, Themed Retail & Dining
18,500 Square Meters
When developer Djarum set out to build their largest and most-ambitious retail mall to date, they knew they needed something unique to stand out in an extremely competitive marketplace. Following an international search for the right collaborator, Legacy Entertainment was tasked with dramatically conceptualizing the two uppermost floors of the colossal complex.
The culmination of this partnership, dubbed ‘Crossroads of the World’, has gone on to become one of Jakarta’s most iconic destinations. The project, organized into four distinct districts, immerses guests amidst elaborately-themed shopping streets and is anchored by a dazzling fountain show set within a recreation of New York’s iconic Rockfeller Plaza.
FunFact: The highest floors in a retail mall are often the least-attended, and most difficult to lease. However, at Grand Indonesia, the lavish-themed ambiance has resulted in this zone being home to many of the complex’s highest-grossing tenants.
